PACURH Welcome
PACURH Frogs,
On Sunday July 10, 2011 your Regional Board of Directors met at Gonzaga University for our Summer Retreat. We met for three days, 2 nights to discuss all things PACURH. Whether it wass committees, parliamentary procedure, icebreakers, goals, or simply getting to know each other, we discussed it. In this letter I want to introduce you to your Regional Board of Directors, show you our vision for region, offer resources at your availability, and welcome you to another year with PACURH!
Your Regional Board of Directors (RBD) for 2011-2012 is:
Director: Michael Barrett
Associate Director of Administration and Finance (ADAF): Richard Arquette
Associate Director of National Residence Hall Honorary (AD-NRHH): Amy Funk
Northern RCC – Recruitment & Retention: Phirakny Chau
Southern RCC – Recruitment & Retention: Chelsea Morin
Presidential Resource Coordinator: Scott Hoffman
Regional Technology Coordinator: Kevin Carroll
Advisor: Shelly Clark
This year we have a lot of goals and expectations for our region. One of the primary goals is to increase involvement within our region. To challenge this goal we will be working on networking and relationship building within the region and professional organizations, improving our financial state of place, developing our skills in the areas of recruitment and retention, increasing the level of our transparency, and maintaining a higher level of accountability. Another vision for PACURH we want to instill is the fostering of RHA and NRHH relationships. As a NACURH affiliate, we work to serve both organizations. Through collaboration, solidifying conference purposes, and consistently improving the dynamic relationship between the organizations, we hope to meet our end goal. Lastly, we want to progress the voice of PACURH on an international level. By focusing on international committee involvement, educating members how to win international awards, developing our relationships with other regions, and better preparing our members for the NACURH Conference, we hope to give PACURH a more influential and distinguished voice throughout NACURH.
During the year if you would like access to past bids, governing documents, or simply need some contact information and regional updates, please visit us at www.pacurh.nacurh.org. You can also follow us on twitter at @pacurh and like us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/pacurh.
I am very excited to serve you all this year as your Director, as is the rest of your RBD. As the year progresses, remember we are always available to answer any of your questions and to support you in your endeavors. I can’t wait to see you at PACURH 2011!

Hey PACURH,
We entered NACURH 2011 with two vacant positions. Last weekend, your NCCs passed legislation restructuring the Regional Board of Directors, creating two sub-regions,
the Northern Region and the Southern Region. The newly passed legislation reduced the number of RBD members from 8 to 7. This left only 1 position open
on the RBD at the end of NACURH 2011, the Southern Regional Communications Coordinator – Recruitment and Retention.
The RBD is now recruiting our last board member these next few days. The process of selecting the SRCC-RR will be the responsibility of the RBD. We are asking those
interested to complete the application that is attached here, including a letter of support from your host institution that:
- states you have institutional support
- states you are enrolled as a full-time student
- states you are in good academic standing.
The application is due to this e-mail account by 11:59 PM on Wednesday, June 8th. I apologize for such a short deadline, but this is to encourage any applicants to be
able to attend the RBD summer retreat from July 10-12. In order to attend, plane tickets (if necessary) must be purchased by June 11.
It should be noted for all potential applicants that RBD members are required to purchase their plane ticket(s) with the ADAF’s approval , and this person will then be
reimbursed by the region.
The duties of the SRCC-RR are listed below:
1. Actively seeking out prospective schools by communicating and cooperating with professional
organizations.
2. Shall work with the Regional Technology Coordinator to maintain affiliation statuses on the
regional website.
3. Shall work with the AD NRHH to stay updated on national NRHH information and changes.
4. Shall attend and assist in the facilitation of regional conferences.
5. Shall chair sub-regional NCC meetings at regional conferences.
6. Shall promote, provide, and enhance the services of the Regional and National Organization
including, Of The Months, Conference information and attendance, encouraging communication,
promoting bids for offices, awards and conferences, promoting the AAFN, promoting the use of
the National Information Center and the establishment of NRHH chapters.
7. Shall assist in NCC training at regional conferences.
8. Shall recruit schools from their sub-region.
9. Shall be responsible for retention in their sub-region.
10. Shall chair committees and task forces when appointed by the Director.
11. Shall communicate monthly with schools in appropriate sub-region.
12. Shall assume any other duties delegated by the Director
13. The RCCs have the responsibility of coordinating the PACURH Regional Display and Regional
Banner for the NACURH Conference.
14. Coordinate recruitment efforts in their sub-region, including keeping and updated list of
unaffiliated schools and their contact status.
15. Maintain a current record of member affiliation status.
16. Shall be responsible for creating, updating, and distributing public relations and recruitment
materials.
The application for the position is attached in Word 97-2004 .doc form. If you need the application in a different format, please ask.
There may be an interview process via phone/Skype once an application is received.
If you have any questions or comments about the position, application, or anything else, please call or e-mail me.
Froggie Love,
Michael Barrett
